Meet Susan
Not that long ago, I got in touch with my third grade teacher and she said to me, “You know, I remember, you always loved to write.” I was surprised that it was so obvious back then, but actually I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t writing. I started out writing unrequited love poems to the boys in my class, and then advanced to stories about dogs. At this point my work includes hundreds of early readers, award-winning picture books, songs for television, package copy, educational videos and curriculum material, zoo and museum exhibits, social media posts, and blogs. Oh and I’ve even written speeches.
My projects have won numerous awards including an Emmy Award, a Parents’ Choice Award, Moonbeam Book Award, a Cine Golden Eagle, a Dr. Toy Award, iParenting Award, and an Environmental Media Award.
